Particle Patterns
PARTICLE PATTERNS 0.2.0
WHAT IS IT?
Welcome to Particle Patterns a three dimensional simulation game where you have control over the behavior of particles through adjustments to their interaction parameters.
Modify the rules governing attraction and repulsion forces between particles. Manipulate universal settings to observe their impact on overall system dynamics.
Explore the intricacies of particle interactions. Adjust parameters and observe how emergent behaviours are developing from a few simple rules.
We are early into development and using this as a learning opportunity, so if you'd like to see us implement any ideas feel free to leave a comment or feedback.
You can try a limited version in the browser. But we recommend that you download the game as a windows application, which has a performance benefit. Also the maximum amount of particles is greater on the desktop version.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
There are a number of particles that can all interact with each other by attracting or repulsing each other.
Each particle has a type assigned to it. And how each particle type interacts with each other is defined in rules.
The catch is that the rules work asymmetrically. With Newton's third law out the window, there are a lot of interesting things that can happen.
DON'T KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND YET?
Try hovering your cursor over an interactable element in game and check the tooltip.
Have fun and thanks for playing, also check out "particle life"!
